Universal Carbon Finance (UCFINN), with the support of the Rockefeller Foundation, is pleased to announce the launch event of the Banking Coalition for the Green Economy on

September 16-20, 2024, Rockefeller Bellagio Center, Italy

This convening aims to establish international banking standards for green lending and private credit instruments. We are bringing together a task force of experts from the financial services industry, academia, and public policy to achieve the following goals:

  • Establish standards for international carbon price discovery
  • Develop benchmarks for carbon pricing in global markets
  • Standardize bank lending and credit products to promote decarbonization and sustainable economic practices
  • Evaluate banking and market infrastructure to identify solutions for green banking development

UCFINN sponsors the Banking Coalition for the Green Economy to drive the global adoption of standardized green finance instruments. This ongoing initiative seeks to implement best practices and standards in innovative banking products that support a sustainable economy. By setting robust standards for bank lending and capital markets, the financial industry can facilitate widespread investment in sustainable projects and accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy.

UCFINN’s mission is to support the transfer of academic finance research into practice. Its innovations are applied in financial services, including banking, brokerage, capital markets execution, asset management, and information provision to financial institutions and intermediaries. With UCFINN’s support, finance domain experts have developed best practices and set standards for advancing market infrastructure solutions worldwide.
